soon, this saturday, AF6 will end and a new winner will be announced.
when AFwas introduced to the malaysian public a couple of years back, i was rather apprehensive about the whole notion of the program. i kept asking - what are the values that the program is trying to promote to the malaysian viewers? emotional? irrational?
the promoters of the show always maintained that the show is pure entertainment. maybe so. but who are the real winners? the public? no. never the public. the public is duped into believing that they are being entertained. the program showcased many tone-deaf 'singers' and i wander how come the 'talent scouts' couldn't trace the shortcomings of the 'talents'. what? ogy and ajai tone-deaf too? or even maybe freddy himself? now i can understand why ramli ms has been irritated by the 'students'. and their dressing? couldn't the producers/promoters of the show find a more talented fashion designer?? his taste is totally bland and inappropriate. one wonders why he hasn't resigned from the show despite the attacks by the show critics. must be something in his contract. astro, please search for a more fashionable fashion designer. american idol is such a popular reality show program in the states. their attire is modern, up to date and yet doesn't have that 'ugh!' reaction from the viewers.
and AF going for its 7th season? well, freddy, you have one less viewer.
